The New Zealand born Trygve (pronounced Trig-vee ) is a physical comedy performer who studied at Ecole Philippe Gaulier, the prestigious Paris clown school with alumni including Sasha Baron-Cohen and Emma Thompson. Wakenshaw's unique style combines mime, physical theater and cheeky idiocy - he is mad, risqué and uniquely eccentric. The critically acclaimed, award-winning clown presents his beautifully strange stream-of-consciousness idiocy in three different shows. His hilarious and fun hit physical comedies SQUIDBOY, KRAKEN,  and NAUTILUS  have been known to sell out at festivals around the world. He is also touring is his award winning DIFFERENT PARTY with best friend and collaborator Barnie Duncan.

Trygve is currently touring his latest show SILLY LITTLE THINGS, as well as NAUTILUS, and his kids show with Toboso Theatre MONSTERRR.

You can find Trygve often in Prague, Czech Republic, performing in PLUTO, part of Laterna Magika at Narodni Divadlo (National Theatre).

He is also running a clown course, encouraging expats and locals alike to be the most idiot version of themselves.

He is also a founding member of SECRET THEATRE PRAGUE, which puts on extraordinary pieces of theatre (currently english language) in non-traditional spaces around Prague, with wonderful actors. The event becomes about community, connection, and stories. The intimacy of the space and the relationship of the actors to each other and to the audience makes the theatre more intimate and more connected. It strips the plays back to the raw ingredients, actors and audience, and sets aside the distractions of imposed asthetics.

Trygve is the CEO of Rucks’s Leather Interiors International s.r.o. Rucks’s goal is to bring physical comedy to Prague through producing touring shows to perform here and hosting workshops to educate and grow the scene of clowns and physical comedians.

Trygve also does a vlog… but he’s only done two of them so far. you can see them on his instagram.
